Renovations and Writing

Distractions continue:

Two days of renovators trenching the front garden outside my office window, shoring up the front entry with new concrete posts set deep into the ground. Next: the bathroom.

The garden is calling to me – plants to be reset in the newly rebuilt front garden, endless projects, beautiful weather, birds chirping.

There’s noise and busy-ness all around – trucks full of dirt rumbling past, a chipper roaring as landscapers prune a neighbour’s tree, hammering on a neighbour’s new roof.

But instead of being irritated by it, I want to be out in it, doing my own pruning and digging and planting.

Writing? oh yeah.
