Meandering Research

I get to play now, researching all sorts of topics, following threads, discovering oddities like the Welsh instruments the pibgorn and the crwth, and natural dyes woald and cochineal. I ponder pronunciation and dig deeper, as I wander into new ideas which need researching, too.

It feels like a series of massive meanders, but most of them will contribute in some way. They’ll help create a background from which I can draw as I write, and bits will show up as little moments in the story. Hopefully, those moments will make the whole feel real, grounded in reality. Even though it’s fantasy.
